Kremlin says Russia, US to not engage in talks with Kallas
Peskov described the current EU leadership as “incompetent,” accusing it of actions that “undermine the system of international relations.” He said, “How can you discuss anything with Kaja Kallas? Neither we will ever discuss anything with her, nor will the Americans, and this is obvious. We can only wait until she leaves.”
He further criticized Brussels as being filled with “semi-literate, incompetent functionaries who are unable to look into the future or understand the realities of today.”
Kallas, a former Estonian prime minister, has consistently called for stricter sanctions on Russia and more military support for Ukraine. She has previously dismissed US-led peace proposals involving territorial concessions to Moscow and recently criticized plans by the United States to annex Greenland, arguing that they have damaged transatlantic relations.
Some EU member states, including Hungary and Slovakia, have also criticized the bloc’s hardline stance toward Russia. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico recently compared the EU to a “massage parlor” and suggested that Kallas should resign.
